What the connector receives

Only the arguments of a tool call: a USDOT number, an MC/MX/FF docket number or a company name, and for some tools a number of days or a state code. They are used once, to fetch public FMCSA records, and are not written to our logs or to any database. The connector does not receive your conversation, your name, your e-mail address or your Claude account.

What is logged

• For each request to the connector, one line in our own log: a truncated one-way hash of the caller's IP address and User-Agent, mixed with a random salt that is replaced every day and deleted after three days (the raw IP address and User-Agent are not stored by us), the tool name or protocol method, a UTC timestamp, whether the call succeeded, how long it took and how many upstream requests it needed. Carrier names and numbers you ask about are not part of this log.
• Cloudflare's automatic per-request invocation logging, which would record the caller's IP address, User-Agent and approximate location, is switched off for this service.
• A counter of distinct hashed callers per day, kept in Cloudflare Workers KV. Entries expire after 40 days.
• Used for: counting usage, finding errors, and deciding whether to keep running this service. Not used for advertising or profiling.

Caching

To be polite to the public data sources, responses from FMCSA and data.transportation.gov are cached at Cloudflare for up to 30 minutes. The cache is keyed by the upstream address, which contains the number or name that was searched, and holds public records only: e-mail addresses and officer names are removed before anything is cached.

Hosting and third parties

The connector runs on Cloudflare Workers. Cloudflare processes requests as our hosting provider and may keep its own standard request logs under its own retention rules. Lookups are sent to FMCSA and U.S. DOT servers (motus.dot.gov, data.transportation.gov) as ordinary web requests carrying the number or name searched and this service's User-Agent, not your identity.

Cookies, accounts, sale of data

No cookies. No accounts. No advertising or analytics scripts. We do not sell or share data, and there is no data about you to sell: nothing beyond the hashed log lines and counters above is kept by us.

The records themselves

The carrier records shown are public FMCSA records. We do not show e-mail addresses. Phone numbers and addresses are shown as FMCSA publishes them. To correct a record, contact FMCSA, which is the source. Questions or removal requests about this service: jeffinmandev@gmail.com.
